Macmillan Coffee Weekend Coffee, Cake, Memories and Community
From 25–28 September, ABC became a place for coffee, cake, dancing, memories and a little bit of giving back as we held our Macmillan Coffee Weekend.
Across the weekend, our dancers, parents, grandparents and families came together to support Macmillan Cancer Support by baking, donating, sharing a cuppa and remembering those who are no longer with us.
Coffee, Cake and Lots of Generosity
There was certainly no shortage of cake!
Our ABC families got involved in all sorts of ways, from baking and bringing along homemade treats to making donations and simply taking a little time to sit with a coffee and enjoy being together.
And we loved seeing some very special ABC-themed cakes appearing too!
Every class across the weekend had the opportunity to get involved, making it something that reached right across our ABC family.
Remembering Those We Miss
Alongside the coffee and cake, we created a Memory Wall where people could write the names of loved ones they wanted to remember.
It was a simple but very meaningful part of the weekend.
Cancer touches so many families in so many different ways. Many of us know someone who is living with cancer, has been through treatment or who is sadly no longer here.
Having a little space within our busy studio to pause, remember and write someone's name meant a lot.
A Weekend of Community
Sunday brought another lovely part of the weekend as Scarlet Peach Line Dance joined us, adding even more energy, laughter and dancing to our fundraising efforts.
It really did feel like a weekend that brought together everything we love about ABC, dancing, families, friendship, laughter and looking out for one another.
For us, supporting Macmillan is also about giving something back. We know how many people are affected by cancer, and being able to use our ABC community to support such an important cause is something that matters to us.
Support from our Local Community
We were also delighted to have the support of local businesses Boltbase and Pets Direct during our Macmillan weekend.
They very kindly donated to our fundraising and, of course, did their bit to support the coffee-and-cake side of things too! After all, you can't have a Macmillan Coffee Weekend without eating some cake!
It was lovely to see local businesses getting behind the weekend alongside our ABC families and helping us raise money for such an important cause.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who baked, donated, bought a cake, made a donation, joined in with the dancing, added a name to our Memory Wall or simply came along and shared a coffee.
Together, our ABC family and local community have raised an amazing £370 for Macmillan Cancer Support!
It may have started with a cup of coffee and a slice of cake, but it became so much more than that.
A weekend of giving, remembering and coming together as the ABC family and we're so proud of what we have achieved together.
