Inside Our Junior Summer Dance Project

This summer, we welcomed 13 dancers aged 7–12 into the studio for our Junior Summer Dance - two days dedicated to exploring different dance styles, building confidence and, most importantly, having fun together.

Throughout the two days, dancers had the opportunity to experience a range of classes including ballet, jazz, pom and acro, giving them the chance to develop new skills, revisit familiar favourites and try styles they may not have experienced before.

Exploring New Styles and Building Confidence

One of the highlights of the Summer Dance Project was seeing dancers embrace every opportunity with such enthusiasm. Whether they were stepping into a new style for the first time or challenging themselves with something more familiar, everyone came ready to join in, learn and give things a go.

For some dancers, the biggest surprise was discovering a new favourite class.

Olivia shared that she really enjoyed the ballet class on the first day, but the jazz class ended up being her overall favourite.

Maddie loved the variety of experiences, saying:

“I loved cheer, learning ballet as I haven’t tried it before. I loved doing the caterpillar, acro and Alice in Wonderland in ballet. It was nice spending time with my friends.”

More Than Just Dance Classes

Alongside the dancing, the project was a wonderful opportunity for friendships to grow. Sharing lunch together, learning alongside friends and spending extra time in the studio helped create a relaxed and positive atmosphere throughout the two days.

It was fantastic to see dancers supporting one another, encouraging each other and enjoying the experience as a group.

A Celebration of Trying Something New

What made this project so special was seeing every dancer take part with such a positive attitude. They worked hard, explored different styles and challenged themselves, but above all, they enjoyed dancing.

For us, that is what Summer Dance is all about: creating opportunities for dancers to build confidence, discover new interests and enjoy the feeling of being part of something together.

We are incredibly proud of all 13 dancers who took part and loved seeing them leave the studio with new experiences, new memories and even a few new favourite dance styles!
