Watching Week – Sharing the ABC Experience

From 4–9 October, we opened our studio doors a little wider as parents and families joined us for Watching Week.

Across all our classes and dance styles, families had the chance to see what happens in a typical ABC class and, in some lessons, to get involved themselves!

There was plenty of laughter, clapping and encouragement, with some lovely moments as dancers showed their parents the steps and skills they have been working so hard to learn.

More Than Watching

Some of the joining-in was planned by our teachers, while other moments happened quite spontaneously. Either way, it was lovely to see parents having a go, children sharing what they know and everyone supporting one another.

For some families, it was a chance to see just how much their child has learnt. For others, it was an opportunity to understand what a dance class actually looks like and to experience a little of what their child enjoys each week.

And, of course, there were plenty of proud smiles from both sides!

Lovely Words From Our Families

We were delighted to hear how much families enjoyed the experience.

“The lesson was amazing tonight! I loved it! My favourite of the week and I hadn't even planned on staying! So so beautiful.”

Another parent shared:

“Thank you for the watching week, it was great fun.”

And one family particularly appreciated seeing the classes in action:

“Was so great to see what a class looks like and what they have been learning! Thank you so much and also to the girls assisting, they’re so good with the children.”

It is always lovely to hear that families have enjoyed being part of the experience, and we're especially proud of our older dancers who help and support the younger children in their classes.

Sharing What We Love

At ABC, dance is about so much more than learning steps. It's about building confidence, encouraging one another, making friendships and having fun along the way.

Watching Week gave our families the chance to see some of that for themselves, not through a performance, but by sharing an ordinary week of classes with us.

Thank you to all our parents and families who came along, joined in, clapped, encouraged and supported their dancers. And a big thank you to our teachers and student assistants for making everyone feel welcome.

It was lovely to share a little more of the ABC experience with you.
