Faculty

Alloa Ballet Company & Stirling Academy of Dance staff are trained to deliver professional and expert dance education to students of all ages and abilities. We are proud that our staff are former ABC or SAD students.
We encourage our Senior students to assist with Junior classes and also offer work experience placements to students from local schools.

Heather Shrimpton RAD RTS, AISTD, FDI
Heather trained with Basingstoke Academy of Dance before moving up to Stirling to study at Stirling University, where she gained a BSc (hons) in biology. During her time at university, she continued her dance training at the Scottish Academy of Dance, gaining her teaching qualification with the Royal Academy of Dance and Associate with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance.

Throughout a varied career, Heather was the Special Needs Dance Co-ordinator and then Dance Artist for Clackmannanshire Council, sourcing funding, teaching within local schools, organising workshops with Dance UK and lecturing at national dance conferences. She is currently a primary teacher in a local school.

She has just successfully passed her motorbike training, and is now on the lookout for a bigger motorbike . However she won’t be turning up to class on it – there is not enough room for the stereo, syllabus, registers, scarves, shoes . . . . . . .

Heather has choreographed and directed numerous children’s musical theatre and amateur operatic societies. She currently is involved with Stirling Gang Show.

After leaving college Claire joined her mum, Jackie, in the running of her dance school, Dunedin Dance Academy and now runs the Jazz, Tap, Modern and Performance classes at the Edinburgh Branch. After falling in love with babyballet in 2009 Claire completed her training and set up babyballet West Edinburgh.

Jenna Graham

Jenna danced with Heather throughout her childhood and into adulthood. She worked hard to pass exams and was proud of what she achieved. She loved performing on the stage and really enjoyed doing the show dances. At high school Jenna was a dance captain and took part in some competitions. When she moved to Glasgow to study Primary Teaching she took the opportunity to try different dance styles such as Latin and ballroom. Whilst at university Jenna trained to be a Zumba instructor and qualified to do classes with adults and children. She really enjoyed the Latin style of dance and music in these classes. As a primary teacher Jenna run the Glee club and dance club and over the last few years, in my spare time, has produce some production numbers of the Stirling Gang Show. Jenna still loves to dance and will continue to do so for many years to come. Jenna teaches our adult zumba classes.
